Your Merritt & District Chamber of Commerce Has Big Plans for 2023

There's never been a better time to get involved with the Chamber,

The New Year is upon us, and the Chamber has made large strides in 2022 - from the return of Quilchena Ave. Street Markets, representing our downtown commerce at events like Bass Coast & Rockin' River Fest, hosting events like Meet the Mayor and the All Candidates Forum, and running community programs like the Chamber Photo Contest and two Shop Local programs, we've built a lot of momentum over the past year!

And as our backing from the community and our Board of Directors grow, our capacity to enact change, advocate for business, expand existing programs and launch even more new programs grow as well. We're not ready to announce everything on the slate for 2023, but here's a sneak peek of just some of what's to come;

Business After Business

Did you attend our Business after Business at Barkman Concrete in January? If not, don't fret - we're booking over a half dozen Business after Business events for 2023, bringing the business public new networking opportunities across the City... and maybe even at City Hall itself!

Supports for Businesses
The Chamber of Commerce Business Benefits package reminds a massive value-add for businesses, but we're not stopping there; stay tuned to our social media and website for information about new programs that will help business owners access funding, tangible supports, training and more.

Public Events
We saw thousands of people at Chamber events in 2022. If you were with us at our Quilchena Ave Street Markets or any of our other events, we thank you for your support! In 2023, we aim to improve upon and add more to our roster of public engagements. Keep an eye out for more info!

A Diverse, Active Team
In 2022, the Chamber of Commerce was able to take on full time and part time staff, and began to build up a Board of Directors that is engaged and ready to make positive impacts in their community. A month into 2023 our Board has already added two new members and applications for funding have been filed to hire a summer program coordinator! As we build our capable, committed team we invite members of the public to find a way to get involved; contact us about a Directorship application, or to attend one of our open to the public monthly Board meetings.
